What Does 4 in 10 Mean?

ABC News performed a poll and found that 42% of the US population believes that President Obama has the country headed in the right direction. They even made this sound like a good thing, knowing that the lemmings who read the news with a closed mind will not do the math and realize that this means 6 in 10, a majority for those of you who can't do the math, do not think we're headed in the right direction. I guess this is what you get when you call 52% of the popular vote a mandate.

You wanted it? You got it, along with Pelosi, Reid, Dodd, Waters and Frank.

Look, I understand the vitriol for the Democrats. I really do. It was difficult for me to vote for Obama as I did. I was more voting against angry fossil and his idiot running mate.

But no one can convince me that McCain and Palin would be scoring game-winning economic touchdowns on every play right about now either. No way. Palin would have us praying for a recovery, which of course would be answered by God in one of 3 revealing ways: Yes, No or Wait. So yeah, 33% chance of redemption there, I guess.

That all said, I'm disgusted and outraged with Obama's incompetence so far. I had hoped we'd be better off, but the situation has been made only worse. How much worse than McCain/Palin? Thankfully we'll never know.

But the global housing market collapse was always going to be a massive obligatory sh&t sandwich, no matter who was in the oval office.

I will say that Obama does not have the luxury of many opportunities to do things right. Sooner or later, people are going to hit the streets. Only this time he won't be able to join them.

To be honest Markus, there was no way in hell I was ever going to vote for McCain. I was appalled by Palin's ability to make GWB look like a genius, but my pragmatic sentiment went right down the shit tubes when Obama hopped on the Hillary Clinton bus toward individual bailouts. She said it first and Obama jumped right on board. However, what I have seen in the first 70 odd days is not doing anything to make me even consider Obama as better President than what we have seen in the past. He's the same old shit, with a nice clean new veneer. To borrow from Beavis and Butthead, you can't polish a turd.
